Internet study finished – after 7 years

CNN.com – Internet study finished – after 7 years

I find this particularly amusing, given some of the conclusions of the report. One thing noted was that the report suggests that major Internet hubs be operated by volunteers & other non-government agencies – which is in STARK contrast to what the UN is saying these days. (In case you didn’t know, the UN wants to regulate the Internet – putting it firmly in government control – because they think that it would be “better” that way.)

Amusement aside, this is embarrasing when you think about it. It took a government agency 7 years to produce a report they were supposed to have in 9 months. And these people were reporting directly to Congress. I think that says a LOT about US government these days.
