Difference between them and us?
Although all the “cool kids” these days seem to be writing web apps, and the word “cloud” has taken on a new meaning that is sure to confuse meteorologists and normal people alike, I still think that desktop apps are very important. Maybe even important enough to deserve a little more attention than they’ve been getting lately (living, as they do, in the shadow of the buzzword friendly “web app”).
I have NADD – that’s “Nerd Attention Deficiency Disorder.” And I’m proud of it. (Rands – of Rands in Repose – does a great job of describing what NADD is, if you’re not familiar with the term, or if you can’t grasp the concept right away).
Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of game music on my computer (rather than streaming it from places such as Radio GOSU). I still find myself amazed at the quality of music that I find there – just really, really good stuff, made with (obvious) passion, and a lot of technical skill.
