Empathy for the Dead

It’s funny how the people who say that empathy is bad and will be the downfall of western civilization turn around and demand that everyone else show empathy to one of their own who espoused those views most loudly and then was killed by one of their own who took those same views so much to heart that he lacked the empathy to understand why shooting someone would (or could) be wrong.

Hypocrites, much?

Or maybe it was never about empathy or any of that in the first place, and it was all just a thin veneer over “do what I say and don’t question me.”

Anyway, although I will never celebrate the death of another human being (however abhorrent they may be), I will say that the world is better off when they aren’t in it anymore.
