Core Dump: Into the Fediverse

So recently I’ve given some thought to trying out this new-fangled “Mastodon” thing and dipping my toes into the larger “Fediverse” as it’s known, and one of the first things I wanted to try was hooking up my blog – after all, the whole point of the “Fediverse” is decentralized publishing, and what is my blog but a node for publishing my own content?

So I installed a plugin and after a little bit of tweaking (due to having my blog hosted in a subfolder rather than at the root of the domain), I was (supposedly) up and running.

Now, at the moment I don’t have any way to check and verify that my posts are visible to people – but hopefully that will come soon, as I’m thinking of setting up my own Mastodon instance under the starkeith.net domain – but we’ll see how this pans out.

For now, hopefully folks in the Fediverse can find and follow this blog at @Keith@www.starkeith.net – and if you’ve done that, please do feel free to leave a comment letting me know.
