Liabilities and Software Vulnerabilities

Stuff like this (from Bruce Schneier’s blog) really makes me worry. As a programmer, I see it as a death sentence. As a business owner, I see it as a strange (and in my opinion, unjustified) attempt to “pierce the corporate veil.”

I certainly agree with Bruce when he says:

This will certainly give pissed-off users someone to sue, but it won’t reduce the externality and it won’t result in more-secure software.

Indeed.
