• Rabbit TV

Betsy told me about her “Top Bun” idea, and that got me thinking… what other shows would be on “rabbit TV?”

    • Top Bun – rabbits in fighter jets with rock music!
    • Classic cartoon Wonder Buns – just say “Wonder Bun powers activate!”
    • Betsy suggested “America’s Next Top Lagomorph,” but I don’t think that would work out so well…
    • Cooking show Good Treats – hosted by Alton Bunn, of course
    • British bun car show Top Ear
    • He-Bun – And the Masters of the Warren, a show about the strongest bun in the Universe!
    • The Buns Next Door – All about those cute “playbuns”
    • Paw and Order: Special Carrot Unit

That’s all I could think up – do you have any suggestions?

  • TV

Mom and dad were watching TV last night when Gus and I came out from nappy-time in dad’s office. I was the first to come out and I kind of liked what they were watching, so I sat for a while with them and watched the show… what was it called… “Top Gear” or some such thing. Dad and mum laughed quite a bit, and it had flashy colors, so I liked it, though I’d prefer a show called “Top Bun.”

It could star… ME! (Ok, and Gus, too.)

  • Tagged, Yet Again

Dad says we have to play another game. Apparently we must link to Tara and then answer these questions, even though they seem to be cat questions, not bunny questions:

    1. The name that the family uses daily (such as Peter, Agustus, Alonzo, or James)
    2. The name that is particular, a name that’s peculiar, and more dignified (such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat)
    3. What you are doing when you are thinking of the name that only you know, and will never confess (when engaged in rapt contemplation), that deep and inscrutable singular name. Then tag three cats (and let them know they are tagged) to give us their names.

    So:

    1. Gus
    2. Gussy-Boy
    3. Laying in a sunbeam!

Hrm… I don’t know if I’m doing it right, but at least I tried!

  • Gus… that’s MY job!

The other night, mum and dad had some strange people over. They left us alone, but while they were here, the bunny jail was removed!

Unfortunately, after they left dad put it right back up. Gus was not happy about this. He thinks he’s been unfairly imprisoned.

The next morning, he took out his anger on our bunny temple.

Wait a minute, Gus – destroying things is supposed to be MY job!

Dad later said that Gus has “big, sharp, nasty pointy teeth” while doing a weird thing with his hand.

They’re both weird… like dad, like bun, I guess!

  • Grooming, and new Toys

This weekend, both Gus and I got “grabbed and groomed.” Dad is getting good at catching us, we will have to think of new ways to avoid him!

On top of that, dad cleaned our area (as he does every week, undoing all my hard work making a mess of it). But this time… there was something… new!

    new bunny tube

Dad calls it the “bunny tube.” Gus checked it out first, and said it was fine, but I wasn’t so sure.

    betsy is not amused

I just don’t like the color – it doesn’t match anything!!

But still, after a while I checked it out – it seems OK. And it’s fun to dig in!

Gus, on the other hand, was hogging the Bunny Temple, as usual.

    gus in the bunny temple

Dad finally figured out how to place it so that we can hide properly in there. Though I prefer a simple cardboard box, the Bunny Temple isn’t a bad place to take a nap – safe and secure in the knowledge that no one can see you (as long as you don’t let your nose stick out, as Gus did).

Well, it’s almost din-din time… time to go bug dad until he feeds us!

  • I Concede Defeat

OK, dad, I give up. Betsy and I haven’t been able to escape from bunny prison in nearly a week (and believe me, we’ve tried). So I guess you’ve finally made it “bunny-proof.”

So….. can you let us out, now? It’s boring staying locked up all night!

    -Gus

  • One of our friends has moved on

    Our friend Archi-Ann died.

We know that she’s on the other side of the rainbow now, frolicking with El-ahrairah in endless fields of dandelion greens.

But still… we will miss her. She was a bun with ‘tude!

Betsy would like to say, to Archi’s Mum, that if you’d like a bunny snuggle she’ll be happy to make an exception to the “don’t touch me” rule just for you.

  • Stems

    bunny leftovers

Dad, next time… just give us the leaves of the parsley. I don’t like the stems so much.

  • A Sleepy Week

    under dad's chair

It’s been a sleepy week for Gus and me. We had a few nice days where we could lounge in sunbeams (after mum let us out of the jail in the morning), and some not-so-nice days where it was cloudy and dark and kind of cool where we just slept in dad’s office all day (like in this picture).

Also, you may notice the orange stain on my chin, and on Gus’s paw. Thats… um… just from eating carrots. Yeah, that’s all it is.

  • More Bunnies

I forgot to mention – mom told me the other day about how there are more bunnies living around here!

Well, I guess I should say “wild rabbits” instead of “bunnies.” Mom and dad saw one of them calmly eating grass by the side of the road just a little ways from our house – and mom swears she saw one in the gardens outside a few months ago.

Maybe they will stop by some day to say “hi” to me and Gus! I think that’d be fun!
