My Turn for Guard-Bunny Duty

Normally, Gus is the one who acts as the “guardbunny.” But the other day, I decided to give it a try.

Nope, sorry dad, you’re not allowed to go past me and disturb Gus while he’s sleeping.

Hey, what are you doing? No fair using zoom! No photos! No photos!

betsy acting as a guard-bunny I’ll let it slide this time dad, but don’t you dare try something like that again!

Hmmm, maybe I’m just not cut out for guard-bunny duty?

I Love My Tunnel

I love the tunnel that mummy bought for me. It is the best place to hide in and also to take a peaceful nap in.

betsy flopped in her tunnel In fact, I love it so much that I pretty much spend all my time in the tunnel nowadays. Dad says I spend too much time in there, but what does he know?

After-Dinner Nap

There is nothing quite like taking a nap after a big dinner.

With a full tummy, I just want to flop over on my site and sleep for a while.

Unfortunately, when I do this, dad tends to take my picture… which makes Betsy nervous, so she gets up and comes over to me. Which wakes me up.

Food Coma

Like most bunnies, I really enjoy eating a nice big dinner full of dark leafy greens. Romaine lettuce, kale, parsley, dandelion greens – yum!

And after having a big meal, sometimes I like to just stretch out and digest. Dad does this too sometimes, and he calls it a “food coma.”

Oh yeah, big dinner, full tummy… time for a nap!

Now if only dad would stop bothering me by sneaking up on me and taking my picture, things would be perfect. Ah well.

Trying to Sleep

As you probably know, Gus and I like to camp out in dad’s office and sleep. This is not because we like him or anything; it’s just a… convenient place to sleep, that’s all. Really!

Of course, there are all sorts of sounds in dad’s office – the music he listens to all day, the people he talks to, the sound of him moving around in his chair, and of him getting up from time to time.

Fortunately, I am very good at ignoring dad so I can get some sleep.

betsy sleeping with ears up This is a new sleeping position I’ve developed recently – it helps me ignore dad in all the ways that matter, including ignoring the annoying “beep” from his camera.

I will let you know how it works out long term, but so far, so good.

Completely Normal Sleeping Position

I was taking a nap the other day with Betsy, in dad’s office behind his chair, when dad came in and saw me. He later told me that I have the weirdest sleeping positions:

I completely disagree – I think my sleeping positions are completely normal, and also quite comfortable.

What do you think?

More Sleepy Time Behind Dad’s Chair

As I’ve said before, we bunnies have to sleep a lot – to conserve our energy, of course. It’s a tough job being a bunny, let me tell you – we do need to rest often.

But sometimes when we’re napping, we forget that there are other people around – and that these people have cameras:

I do not approve of this.

TRYING to Sleep

It seems like whenever I try to sleep, dad comes around and starts taking pictures.

So I like to get back at him by sleeping in a way where he’s not sure if I’m awake, asleep, or even if I’m alive!

We refer to these as “dead bunny flops,” because the first time we did one (it was Betsy who first did it) dad got scared and thought we were dead!

Of course, now dad is used to them so he takes pictures of us anyway. I guess we’ll just have to try something new, like sleeping with one eye open and creeping him out.

We’ll let you know how that works out.

I Guess I Need To Work On My Tan

My belly is a bit white. Now that the weather’s turning nicer, maybe I need to lay in the sun and work on my tan?

(You can also see how Gus and I have marked this spot in dad’s office as “our own” by covering it with our fur. For some reason, dad doesn’t seem to appreciate this.)
