• After-Dinner Nap

There is nothing quite like taking a nap after a big dinner.

    gus after-dinner nap

With a full tummy, I just want to flop over on my site and sleep for a while.

Unfortunately, when I do this, dad tends to take my picture… which makes Betsy nervous, so she gets up and comes over to me. Which wakes me up.

gus gets joined by betsy for a napGee, thanks, Dad. (He went away after taking this picture and Betsy left to let me go back to sleep, so it’s not that bad.)

  • This Tunnel Thing is Pretty Good

This tunnel thing that mum bought for us is actually pretty good. I wasn’t sure of it at first, but Betsy really liked it, and eventually I tried it out and realized it’s pretty nice too.

For one thing, it’s perfect for hiding… or napping!

    gus in the tunnel

When you’re in the tunnel, dad and mum sometimes can’t even see you unless they get way down on the ground and look through the tunnel. This goes doubly for when it’s bent a little, because they can’t see around the bend.

Even better is the fact that the tunnel is long enough that dad can’t reach you if you’re in the middle. As I said, a perfect hiding place! (Except when Betsy gets excited for breakfast/dinner and comes racing through the tunnel and body-slams me!)

A rare example of a cardboard bunny-structure done right. Thanks, mum!

  • Do Bunnies Tweet?

Recently we’ve noticed our pal Lola the Bunny has appeared again on that “twitter” thing. Which got us wondering… do bunnies “tweet?” Or, more to the point, should we “tweet?”

Dad uses the twitter thing, and obviously if he can master it, so can we.

Would anyone read a twitter feed of me & Betsy?

Dad thinks it would be a waste because all we would ever say is either “eating,” “pooping,” or “sleeping.” But we’ve already established that we don’t listen to a thing dad says.

    What do you think?

  • I told you before, we’re NOT snuggling

There’s a draft in dad’s office – it comes from under the door that leads out to the garage. It’s not bad, but it has been a little chilly recently (p.s. it’s snowing out again – I love it, dad’s going absolutely nuts).

So, once again, I have to remind everyone that this is NOT snuggling:

Despite what it might look like, we are actually just huddled together for warmth from the draft. Yeah, that’s all.

    Now, carry on.

  • Super-Rabbit-Moon

Did you see the big moon the other night? Dad tells us that some people see a rabbit in the moon.

Do you see a rabbit in the moon?

I say “of course there’s a bunny in the moon; there’s bunnies everywhere!”

The moon-bunny has strange powers. On Friday, it was a really nice warm day – dad had all the windows open and everything. Then, this morning, it… snowed.

We’ll see how long this lasts. (On a good note, it’s driving dad absolutely bonkers!)

  • Don’t Even Think About Cleaning Up

Betsy and I work very hard at making a huge mess. So I like to tell dad to stay away and leave our area as-is.

gus is satisfied with the huge mess he's made “Don’t even think about cleaning this, dad.”

I hope he gets the message.

  • Another New Toy

My mum also got me another new toy, which I really enjoy. It’s a sort of cardboard tunnel-thing.

betsy at one end of her new tunnel See? It’s really fun to race through. Especially if Gus is nearby, so I can crash into him. (For some reason, he doesn’t think this is as much fun as I do.)

    betsy in her new tunnel

It’s also really good for lurking inside of – you can barely see me! And it’s long enough that it makes for a good hiding place from dad – he can’t reach inside. Bonus!

    Thanks, mum!

  • Betsy’s New Toy

You might remember that hay/straw tube-thing that dad got me a while back, right?

betsy's performance art 2 You might also have noticed that it’s not very big, and once I started to chew it, it came all apart.  You can imagine how I felt about that.

Well, my mum bought me a bigger & better version – but it came with its own problem; namely, that it only has a hole at one end!

Well, don’t worry, I can fix that.

betsy with her head in a straw-hay thing Hmmm, it’s a tight squeeze, but it is big enough in here that I can get some good digging done.

betsy with her head in the hay ball thing It’ll take me a little while, but I’m sure I can open up a hole on the other side!

betsy thinks there is nothing wrong with what she was doing What’re you looking at, dad? Can’t you see I’m busy here? Sheesh.

Another good thing about this toy is that not only can I dig and scratch at the inside, but it makes a huge mess! I know dad will love that.

This is just another example of why I like mum more than dad.

  • We’re Still Here

It’s been a while since we posted, but we’re still here. (You can always check us out on the bunnycam.)

Dad was doing some sort of upgrade to our website’s server, and said we couldn’t post while he was doing that. It was only supposed to take a few days.

It has been more than a “few days” now.

But don’t worry, I expressed my disapproval to dad in a format he’s sure to understand: via a drawing on his whiteboard!

gus's valentine messageBetsy, on the other hand, was much more direct:

even betsy's drawing doesn't like you Dad says he’s still trying to get that upgrade done, so hang in there. Once we get the all-clear from him, we’ll be back to our (somewhat) regular schedule.

  • Misunderstood Performance Art

Last night I had an idea for some art, so after working really hard on it, I eventually finished it. But when dad came by and saw it, he was confused and didn’t understand.

    betsy's performance art 2

I don’t know why. He said I was “weird” and “crazy.” I just don’t get him. I guess he just has no appreciation for true art.
