• Mid-Morning Snack

Sometimes mum puts out a mid-morning snack for us by giving us some parsley to munch on (usually after we – or more often, just Betsy – pester her by begging near the kitchen door).

Unfortunately for us, dad was up and alert this time, doing his stupid photo thing.

Do you think you’re being clever or something, dad? You’re not fooling anyone.

gus wonders why breakfast hasn't been served yet

Now put that camera down and give me some treats.

Or, y’know, you could take a video of us eating. I guess that’s OK too. Just don’t interrupt us, OK?

  • Hide and Seek

I’m not very good at this game.

  • Floppy New Year

This year I decided to start the new year off with a really big flop.

    gus flopped 2

Dad saw this and thought it was particularly noteworthy, so he came and took my picture.

I think maybe I’ll aim to improve my flopping and napping techniques this year. How about you?

  • Dad and his Stupid New Camera

Dad recently got a new camera. Now he’s taking more pictures of us than before. It’s a bit annoying.

    betsy slinks closer

Every time he comes down, I have to go check him out – just in case he has some treats hidden on him somewhere.

betsy disapproves of the lack of treats

But, he never does. It’s just him and his stupid camera.

I’m very disappointed (in you dad, of course). Next time, bring treats.

  • Camouflage Litter

Clean litterbox day just got even better! Dad bought some white Care-Fresh litter, which means the other day I was not only able to enjoy clean litterbox day (always nice), but that I could use the litter as camouflage to become invisible!

gus in white litter (ear down)

Ha ha, you can’t see me now, dad!

    This is the life.

  • Our Christmas Card Photos & Outtakes

Every year, dad tries to take a photo of us for his Christmas card. (It never turns out well – for him, or for us.) This year, he tried to keep things simple, but… well… you’ll see.

    christmas card 2011 - take 1

We don’t like being picked up and put in strange places, dad. Never you mind that we both have jumped up here at various points in the past, that doesn’t count!

    christmas card 2011 - take 2

As you can imagine, we don’t take dad’s direction on how to pose very well. Nobody wants to see your bum, Gus!

    christmas card 2011 - take 3

Dad’s attempts to “pose” us himself don’t work out too well.

    christmas card 2011 - take 4

While Gus tries to talk some sense into dad, I try to find a way off this chair.

    christmas card 2011 - take 5

I think Gus was starting to get into the “spirit” of things a little tiny bit. I, on the other hand, was getting tired of all this, and I let dad know by giving him a good disapproving stare.

    christmas card 2011 - take 6

Dad tried “posing” me, but he only has the 2 hands – he can’t pose us both at the same time!

    christmas card 2011 - take 7

    I disapprove of this.

    christmas card 2011 - take 8

    I really disapprove of this.

    christmas card 2011 - take 10

Trying a different angle, dad? It won’t work. Just give up.

    christmas card 2011 - take 11

Even Gus is getting tired of this by now.

    christmas card 2011 - take 12

Dad started to get desperate towards the end, and took overhead shots of us. Nice try, but no.

    christmas card 2011 - take 13

Zooming in doesn’t count as another try, dad. Maybe you’re just not cut out for this?

    christmas card 2011 - take 14

    Can we get down now?

Eventually, after much flipping back and forth between these photos (and many more he took that didn’t turn out), dad and mum settled on this one for the Christmas card this year:

christmas card 2011 - final take

They put a nice festive red border around it and everything – it looks… OK, I guess. But definitely not worth all the hassle he put us through for it.

Well, that’s all for now – hope everybunny has a nice Christmas filled with cranberries, banana, and other treats!

  • Oh Hi Dad

Yesterday, dad kind of surprised us while we were… um… doing absolutely nothing at all.

“Oh… hi there, dad. I didn’t notice you. No, we’re not up to anything. Just… um… go about your normal business; pay no attention to us.”

gus and betsy - caught in the act of... something

Dad didn’t seem to be convinced, so thinking quickly, I decided to “act casual” to dispel any suspicions he might have.

gus tries to act nonchalantI’m sure we totally fooled him.

  • Clean Litterbox Day: An Acquired Taste

Enjoying Clean Litterbox day like I do is a bit of an acquired taste. Betsy, for example, just doesn’t quite get it.

    betsy in the litter box

Whereas I, on the other hand, take every opportunity to enjoy Clean Litterbox Day to the fullest.

gus in the litter boxOn a related note, I like this new litter dad is switching over to. It’s white, just like me – maybe next Clean Litterbox Day I’ll be able to hide in the litterbox and dad won’t be able to see me! That would be great.

  • None of Your Business

betsy on the steps, up to mischief, no doubt

It’s none of your business, dad, what I’m doing over here, so you just put that camera down and go back into your office and leave me alone. I have… very important bunny things to do, OK?

    -Betsy

  • One-Track Mind

Dad came into our area the other day, so I popped up to say hello. (And also to see if he had any treats for me.)

betsy pops up So, hey, dad, got any treats?

betsy around the corner of the box Hmmm? Any treats?

What do you mean, “I have a one-track mind?”

You’re not making any sense. Come back when you have more treats.

    -Betsy
