• Mum & Dad’s Vacation Pictures

Well, these were the only ones we didn’t disapprove of:

rabbit statue outside of trinity church

rabbit statue in the gardens at pickity place

Clearly, there were some rabbit-friendly places along the way – so, why couldn’t you bring us with you again, hmmmm dad????

  • Maybe, Possibly, Slightly Not Mad Anymore

I’m still not happy with you, dad. Behold my intense look of disapproval!

    gus stink eye

(Actually, I’m just glad to be home.)

    gus sad eye

Oh drat – dad saw me being happy instead of disapproving!

    gus surprised eye

Gotta come up with an excuse… ummm… errrr….

    gus sleepy eye

Oh, bother. I give up – I am glad to be home. (Just give me some more treats.)

    -Gus

  • Still Disapprovin’

I’m still disapproving of being left at the vet. I refused treats from dad the first day we were back as well as the second day (Gus gave in, that cheeky bugger).

Gus really got on my nerves while we were at the vet; I tried to thump at the vet to get their attention, but it didn’t work.

Mum keeps trying to apologize, but I’m not having any of it. Next time, she can just stay home!!

    -Betsy

  • We’re Back

    Well, we’re back.

And we’re not happy with dad or mum.

We did NOT like staying at the vet. And we did not like the car ride, either.

We will be dissaproving for quite a while after this incident.

    -Gus

  • I Don’t Wanna Go To The Vet

I tried… and dad tried… and mummy tried too… but there’s no one available to come serve feed watch us while mum & dad are away, so we’ll have to go stay with the vet for a week.

I’m not happy about this… who will give me treats??

  • Renovations

Betsy and I have been hard at work with some… “renovations” to our new house. Specifically, we wanted more room:

    two-bun garage

So, we knocked down a few walls and created what dad calls a “two-bun garage.”

    two-bun garage (closeup)

I thought we did a pretty good job, too. But then Betsy was pushing the house around today and it nearly fell over on me!!

Dad said it wasn’t quite “structurally sound” anymore. So he shooed us away for a bit, and when we came back, this is what we saw:

    bunny condos

So, instead of “Rabbit Townhouse with Two-Bun Garage,” we’ve now got a side-by-side ranch-style Bunny Condo!

Obviously, we had to explore this new configuration.

gus pokes his head up through the hole

    “Oh, hi dad.”

Betsy checked things out in the other direction for me.

The new configuration seems pretty nice to me – although Betsy was somewhat dissapointed that she no longer had a 2nd floor to “escape” to.

Still, I think this new layout will work well for us… until we get the urge to “remodel” again!

    -Gus

  • I Like My New House

Of course, it requires a little minor tweaks:

    betsy does some redecorating

But other than that, it’s just fine – a nice place to get away from Gus!

    betsy on the second floor

He doesn’t like the second floor, so it’s all MINE!

    -Betsy

  • Oh No, not… THE VET!!!

I just heard dad make an appointment for Betsy and I to “board” at the vet for the week when he and mum will be out-of-town.

I don’t like the sound of that!!

It’s bad enough to go to the vet for a little while, never mind staying there for a whole WEEK!

I asked dad if we could stay home instead, but he said that smart as we are, we still would need someone to feed us. I said “what if I found someone to come feed us” and he said “if you can find someone trustworthy, then OK, you can stay home instead of going to the vet.”

So… I’m asking any other buns out there… if you know of a good rabbit-sitter somewhere in… let me see… what did dad call this place… hmmm… “Morris” or “Union” counties in New Jersey… that could come and bunny-sit us, let me know!! I don’t want to go to the vet!!

    -Gus

  • Remodelling

It’s hard work. (Sorry about the out-of-focus movie; dad is obviously not a filmmaker!)

The remodelling is actually coming along nicely… we’ve cleared a few new paths through the inside, and I can stretch out by the back now without hitting these annoying holes.

Like Betsy, I wonder what size rabbit these holes were originally designed for. I’m a (very healthy) 7 lbs – no small bunny! – and Betsy’s nearly the same size (a little smaller). I wonder how big other buns are?

    -Gus

  • Our New Castle Thing

I’m not sure if I like this new castle/maze thing dad put in our space. It’s a little too cramped. Don’t people realize we’re big buns? I’m no mini-lop, after all!

But, it’s OK… I’ve already chewed away the base of one of the internal “doors” so that I can stretch out when I lay down inside. I’m working on some of the external doors.

Last night, dad came out and told me to be quiet, though… something about the loud chomping of cardboard at 1am that didn’t sit well with him. Well, I was getting tired anyway, so I stopped a little bit after that.

The holes are bit smaller than I’d like as well – it’s hard to get up onto the second level. I’ll have to do some “remodeling” there as well.

    So much work to do!
