He’s got 3 bunnies at the moment – Thumper and Marshmallow are Betsy’s bunny parents, and a new arrival tentatively called “Shadow.”

This is where Marshmallow (sort of hiding on the left) and Thumper (on the right) live. Marshmallow’s the girl, Thumper’s the boy.

This is a better view of them. Marshmallow loves to lounge around – Thumper is more agressive. (They are not spayed or neutered, which explains the aggression.)

Despite this, Thumper (who used to be quite the grouch) has mellowed in his old age (of, what, 2 or 3 years, now?). They were both quite excited to see us, and were quite happy to be petted through the door of their cages.

It was nice to see that they were both doing well, but we didn’t know what to expect from the new arrival.

Our fears were quite misplaced – Shadow was VERY affectionate. In fact (and Gus will kill me for saying this), Shadow is more affectionate than either Gus or Betsy! He (or she) is also quite adorable, although that long fur needed some attention (which we gave him/her).

This is Shadow’s house. He (or she) likes to make a nest of hay, a habbit that none of our other bunnies really seem to want to do (they prefer to just lounge on the carpet). We had to clean out his nest box, on the right, because it was quite dirty – apparently Shadow likes to use hay as his litter as well.

All in all it was a good day – we gave all the bunnies some treats, and made sure that Marshmallow and Thumper knew that Betsy was doing all right. And we gave Shadow some love and attention, and I think he (or she) quite liked it.

Such cute bunnies!

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[4,8

post-787","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-pets","category-pictures","entry
These two bunnies sure have bonded well.
