I need something that allows me to design the site just the way I want, and then add content to it – with the system taking care of linking, menus, and so forth.

In the past, I’ve thought about writing a database-driven content management system myself from scratch, but again we are reminded that programmers are inherently lazy. We don’t like to do something ourselves if it’s already been done by someone else (and made available for free on the web). Remember, programmers love re-usability (i.e. classes, shared functions, libraries, etc.).

Towards that end, I think I’m going to install some Wiki software on StarKeith.net, and transition the site over to that. I’m not sure how it’s going to work out, but the Evil Day Star is out today, and I’m not inclined to be blinded by it, so I think I’ll stay inside and do some web work in this vein. It should be fun!

So, stay tuned for updates… StarKeith.net may be making a comeback!

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[5

post-688","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-technology","entry
https://www.starkeith.net/coredump/2005/11/07/sony-rootkits-and-digital-rights-management-gone-too-far/
This story of finding a rootkit on your computer, and then realizing that it came from a Sony CD, is the sort of thing that makes people really mad at music companies.
I've finally taken down "Infinity Pages." If you were looking for anything from my old personal page, look around here - or use the search box.
Be careful if you update (flash) your computer's BIOS and you use iTunes - as you may end up resetting iTunes and require a re-authorization of all of your music!
Suffice to say, I enjoy game music.
