Went for a drive last night – just a casual cruise – and my goodness it was so relaxing<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a beautiful evening – about an hour before sunset, and warm enough to have all the windows down, but not so warm that I needed to close the windows and run the air conditioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Keithmobile<\/a> is a really great cruiser – as I’ve said before, it’s not fast<\/em> per se, but acceleration is effortless when you need it. And the torque from the diesel makes it super-easy to just loaf along casually, not rushing, just cruising gently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn’t even have my music up (as I often do when driving for fun); instead there was just the sound of the wind and the quiet rumble of that little turbo-diesel up front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sun was slowly setting off to the west, painting the sky in those beautiful late-summer colors, with the tops of the clouds off to the east glowing gold in the last light of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually the sun slipped below the horizon and I headed home before it really got dark, but even though it was a relatively short drive, it really helped calm me down after a long & stressful day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some people hate driving, while others see it as just a thing you do to get from point A to point B, but I have always loved driving for its own sake, and even when I have no place to go it is always enjoyable to me to just drive<\/em>. (And doubly so when it’s my amazing Keithmobile that I’m driving!)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
