Well, I’m pretty much done fixing up my blog here – most everything works and generally it looks like it used to. You’ve probably noticed that the sidebar has moved back over to the right; I’m not sure if I care enough to move it back to the left. Also, I’ve begun to wonder if the right-hand side isn’t best for the sidebar anyway – given the way we read & whatnot. (I’ve been doing a lot of research into “usability” and user-interface design lately.) So, for now, I think it’ll just say where it is.<\/p>\n
I’m generally pretty pleased with how quickly I got things back into order around here – given that you can’t import templates from Blogger<\/a> into WordPress<\/a> (they manage templates in very different ways). Also, I had customized my template quite extensively – and although I started with a WordPress version of a similar template, it still required quite a bit of work (the CSS syntax allows you to write things many different ways, and this template used a very different – and IMHO hard to read & understand – style). <\/p>\n Those “category” things over in the sidebar are also pretty cool; as is the “trackback” feature. I’ve tried to categorize things as best I can, and some articles are in more than one category, but you can see that most of what I write here is either personal<\/a> or political<\/a>. Be sure to use the “search” feature too; it only searches this blog, and not the entire StarKeith.net<\/a> site (as my previous Google<\/a> search did).
