Crap.<\/p>\n

Given the recent surge in Federalism here in the US (a.k.a. “states rights”), I wonder how people will react to this – as it is a huge violation of states rights by the Federal Government. Not to mention that the current Federal Government has absolutely NO IDEA on how to do this right<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Now, I’m not necessarily against <\/em>national IDs – I don’t think they are intrinsicly bad<\/em>; but they are hard to do right<\/em>, and I don’t trust any Earth-based government to do them right<\/em>.<\/p>\n

But now it looks like we’re going to get them anyway. Bloody hell.<\/p>\n
