America has become a dangerously litigious society, and the number of frivolous lawsuits is only increasing. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been suggested that taking an approach similar to what is done in the U.K. would work well &#8211; that is, if you sue some one, and you loose (i.e., the suit you brought forth was probably frivolous) then YOU are responsible for the defendant&#8217;s legal fees. <\/p>\n<p>Contrast this with how the system is currently set up &#8211; you can hire a (for example) Personal Injury lawyer and not pay ANYTHING unless you win money in a judgment. If you loose &#8211; you don&#8217;t pay anything, which just encourages frivolous lawsuits. (I&#8217;m sure some of you have seen ads on TV for lawyers like this &#8211; it makes me sick sometimes!)<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, this is just one person&#8217;s take on the situation.
