So bright, in fact, that I decided I could hand-hold some photos of the moon!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"tt-flickr tt-flickr-Medium\" title=\"full moon 1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/keithius\/3105789306\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3267\/3105789306_771e098f56.jpg\" alt=\"full moon 1\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In retrospect, I probably still should&#8217;ve used a tripod &#8211; after all, I was taking these photos at maximum (12x) zoom. Still, the moon was SO bright that I was able to take them with a relatively fast shutter speed.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"tt-flickr tt-flickr-Medium\" title=\"full moon 2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/keithius\/3104956633\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3239\/3104956633_1346eece40.jpg\" alt=\"full moon 2\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They didn&#8217;t come out too bad; although they aren&#8217;t very interesting &#8211; there was nothing near the moon for a background or foreground or whatever.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"tt-flickr tt-flickr-Medium\" title=\"full moon 3\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/keithius\/3104956645\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3168\/3104956645_fdac7a6370.jpg\" alt=\"full moon 3\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Still, I&#8217;m pleased with the way they came out.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"tt-flickr tt-flickr-Medium\" title=\"full moon (no zoom)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/keithius\/3104956589\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3169\/3104956589_7772196007.jpg\" alt=\"full moon (no zoom)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a> This last one is a shot of the moon without any zoom. It&#8217;s really amazing how small the moon is &#8211; or, to put it another way, how large it seems to our easily-tricked eyes!<\/p>\n<p>I spent some time the other day with my telescope and the half-moon, but didn&#8217;t get any photos &#8211; although the view was spectacular. Once I figure out how to use my camera with the scope, perhaps I&#8217;ll have something I can share here.
