So, I finally made the jump and signed up for an OpenID<\/a> – on the recommendation<\/a> of Jeff Atwood<\/a>, I chose myopenid.com<\/a> as my provider.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, you can set up your own domain through OpenID and basically give out OpenIDs based on your domain, instead of someone else’s. (In case you’re not aware of how an OpenID works, basically your “ID” with OpenID is a URL, say, http:\/\/keithius.myopenid.com<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

So of course, I signed up my domain, starkeith.net, so that I can give out OpenIDs based on my domain.<\/p>\n

If you’d like to have an OpenID from starkeith.net (in the form of http:\/\/id.starkeith.net\/[your user name]), just let me know. But be warned that I get to choose who gets them, and I will<\/strong> be choosy.<\/p>\n

There’s no real difference with an OpenID from starkeith.net and any other open ID provider – I just think it’s cool to have my own domain be part of my open ID. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
