I’m #1!
So, I got around to signing up my site for Google’s Webmaster Tools, and as I was perusing the results, I came across a very interesting chart. This chart showed search terms (”keywords,” in the lingo of the search business) and how my site ranked for those terms. Being that this is just my personal blog & playground website, I didn’t think I would rank very high for anything other than “core dump blog,” “starkeith,” or maybe “Keith’s website.” So you can imagine my surprise when I found that one of my pages was ranked #1 for the search phrase “manual vs automatic.”
#1 on Google. Well I’ll be bounced!
I guess people really liked that article! Though, admittedly, I should have guessed as much - that article has more comments than any other article here. Still, it was quite interesting!
If you have a website of your own, I highly recommend using Google’s tools - both the Webmaster Tools and Google’s Analytics to track your website traffic. You might discover something interesting about your own site that you didn’t know!
