Jailbreak!

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

So, the “being cute” thing wasn’t working - dad was still locking us up at night. Drat! We must’ve done something really bad this time.

But last night, Betsy and I made an escape attempt - and it worked! We wiggled past the edge of the bunny barrier and roamed free while mum & dad were sleeping. Better still, they had left the bedroom door open, thinking we were safely locked away. So we got into the bedroom! And best of all, they’d taken the protective barrier around the bed apart to make the bunny barrier, so we could get under the bed!!!

Unfortunately, dad heard us after a while and woke up and chased us out of the bedroom. Drat!

Then, he went back to sleep and didn’t get up until late. Betsy and I were sooooooo hungry! I mean, was that really necessary dad?

Later in the day, I popped out to use my litter box, and found that dad had re-built the bunny barrier - he now called it the “bunny gulag.”

Uh-oh, this isn’t looking so good.

Oh dear, a door and everything!

We may need to re-evaluate our behavior.

We’re In Trouble

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

I think dad and mum finally got fed up with Betsy ripping up little bits of the carpet. (Oh all right, I suppose I joined in too, from time to time.)

Last night we came out to the living room to find that our corner space had been fenced-in. Then dad chased us around the house and picked us up and put us in there for the night - to “keep us out of trouble” he said.

He let us out again in the morning, but still… I haven’t been confined to a “cage” at night since I was very little. And Betsy, who lived much of her early life in an outdoor hutch/cage, really didn’t like it.

So Betsy and I talked a bit last night (not having much else to do)… and here’s what we’ll do. We’ll turn on the “cute” factor… we’ll turn it WAY up. I’m sure mom and dad will soon break down and let us roam free again. How could they possibly resist us?

I guess I’m just like my mummy - I have a “thing” for shoes.

Late Breakfast

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Dad and mom were both late in getting up and feeding us this morning.

So to keep myself amused while I waited an eternity for my breakfast, I decided to dig in my litter box. I always have the feeling that if I just keep digging a little further, I’ll find a prize - like a big box of crackers or something.

When dad finally got up though, he was not impressed with my digging. Typical.

Mummy is Home!

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Actually mum, you’ve been home for long enough now that I’m going back to my normal mode of silent indifference to your existence.

But please don’t forget to give me some extra treats or else I’ll chew your shoes!

After Breakfast Lounging

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

After breakfast, Betsy and I like to lounge around before we start making trouble for dad.

Hmmm… I guess dad is right, I do need to be brushed. I’m getting a little shaggy!

Into the Bedroom!!

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Dad left the door to the bedroom open last night! So Gus and I quickly snuck in… but unfortunately the door to mummy’s closet was still closed. Then, dad came in and told us to get out.

Foiled, again!

I just felt like digging

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Today I just really, really, really got the urge to dig. Y’know how you feel, when you just want to sink your paws into something and dig really fast… and that wonderful feeling when whatever you’re digging in actually gives way, and you start to make progress on a hole?

Yeah.

I didn’t make a hole, but I did dig in my litter box. Dad wasn’t impressed, though. He said I made a big mess.

But it felt sooooooo gooooood…

My Graceful Descent

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

OK, so it may not have been that graceful… but it was better than yesterday. I accidentally landed behind the chair… and on top of Betsy. Oops!

I’m just glad dad didn’t catch that one on video!

Today was a Good Day

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

I accomplished a lot today.

I climbed a tall, tall tower. And…

I got groomed!

Although I do have to press my head in pretty far before Betsy starts grooming me instead of just herself.
