Facial what now?

Mum and dad think there’s something… not quite right with my lips. They think I look a little… “lop-sided.” Is that a pun? If so, I really disapprove of it.

To add insult to… well, more insult, they picked me up and took a picture of my face (just after I had eaten, which explains the fur stains).

betsy - right lip abnormality-1 Apparently dad also sent this picture to the VET, and even she said something doesn’t look right. I think I overheard “facial paralysis?”

In any case, dad is taking me to the vet today. Ha! That was a joke. You can TRY to take me to the vet, dad, but I’m going to thump and hide until you give up. Since I’ll win in the end, you might as well just forget about it. I don’t want to go to the vet. I hate the hour-long car ride. I hate the car ride, period. I hate the smell of the vet’s office. I don’t like being touched. I’m fine, just leave me alone!!

I hope dad gets the message. If not, I will have some serious disapproving to do when we get back home.

Make Dad stop and buy you treats. Best of luck at the vet. Thump at him for me.

It’s not a fun job, Betsy, but who better than you to keep the vet in line? Hope it works out OK. (Make them take Gus with you, so you can thump him on the ride, in order to be in good form at the vet’s.)

Aahhhh, Betsy, it’s not that much of a big deal. The vet will look in your mouth and ears and check out your eyes and it will be over in no time! Have you ever been tested for E. Cuniculi? If not, the vet may want to do a teeny tiny blood test and maybe treat you with Panacur. But, if the vet wants you to take medicine, make sure that your parents give you treats to make up for your hardship. And if your parents have any questions about what it’s like to have a bunny with slightly weird facial paralysis they can always send me an e-mail and I would be happy to help.

Wow, Betsy. Does it hurt? I hope not. I hate the vet too, but I think it’ll be worth it. Just make sure that your dad pays the price (in treats).

Poor Betsy! I hope the VET is kind to you, and that you will be better soon!

Your not lop sided in the lips Betsy – that’s a foot for gosh sakes. Don’t those yo yos know your foot when they see it.

Bite the VET’s ankles and everybody elses too.

but disapproval isn’t taken quite so seriously if the disapproving face is lop sided…

Hey Betsy get well. I know all about that facial paralysis thing. I developed that after nerve damage from an ear infection.

I just had an abscess so I now run from my mommie. I hate taking medicine too.

PS Bono says get well too. And get lots of loving from Gus.
