Hay in a Tube

You wouldn’t think it, but hay stuffed in a cardboard tube is actually a kind of fun way to eat hay (and cardboard).

Dad was nice enough to give us a tube stuffed with some nice fresh timothy hay the other day. Unfortunately he only had one tube, so Gus and I had to… umm… “share” it.

Well, anyway, it was still a nice treat.

  1. You and Gus did a great job of sharing that hay tube. Good thing it had two ends!

  2. D Moll says:

Can’t your dad make you 2 hay tubes?

  3. You’re very patient with that husbun of yours, Betsy. When Scout was still about there would have been a royal rumble over “sharing” :)

  4. Erin says:

That looks like fun! I’ll have to try that for P&P!

  5. Joey says:

(grins) that was cute, but kinda reminded me of Lady and the Tramp, but not quite as nice. At least you both shared the treat :)

  6. Fez says:

Hay always tastes better from a tube! Gus… not very good at sharing, dude….. way to go, keep it up! Sharing’s for beings OTHER than rabbits…

  7. lovely video, nice to see bunnies sharing so sweetly. Hay in a tube is definitely a special treat for buns!

  8. Nicole says:

Ah yes, the hay tube, a favourite of Frank as well. Unfortunately “an error occurred” when I tried to watch the video … :(

I’m sorry you couldn’t watch the video… here’s the direct link to YouTube, where the video is hosted, in case this helps:

  10. Rabbits' Guy says:

    “Play well together”

    “Share”

    “Good appetites”

    “Well groomed”

    “Not loud or boistrous”

    “Choose healthy food”

Do these two rabbits have ANY bad characteristics?

  11. Weird how hay is more fun and tasty when it is stuffed into a tube from the toilet tissue.

  12. Gabriella says:

How cute you two are! Why is that Neville and Miss Eve show an interest in the tube (which is promptly shredded and partly ingested) but not in the hay inside?
