Stupid Dewclaw
I snapped my dewclaw off. Again. Remind me again why we have these things?
My paw is a bit sore now, too, which sucks. And to make things worse, even though I tried really, really hard to hide it, dad noticed… and picked me up… and looked at my paw. He said he wanted to make sure I was OK, but he just wanted to pick me up, I’m sure. I didn’t like it it! I never like it!
As for my paw, I’m fine - it’s just a little sore, that’s all.
Do any other bunnies have problems with dewclaws? Betsy says hers have never bothered her, but I don’t know if it’s just me or what…

I’ve never had a problem with my dewclaws, sorry Gus. BUT - he picked you up??? I hate that also.

Hey I am sorry bout your claw Gus, I just broke mine too and mom picked me up cuz I was bleeding and she wanted to check. Course, she kissed me a bunch of times too. Stupid humans.

Ouch! How did that happen? Did you snag it on the carpet? We’ve never had any dew-claw accidents yet, so far…

Dewclaw, is it the “thumb claw”? (English is not my native language).
One of my bunnies has had problems with that one, it was injured for some reason I don’t know last year and I brought him to the vet for it. I kept an eye on it for two weeks and cleaned it daily. Last time I clipped his claws the whole “new” claw fell of without any bleeding! It had healed well underneath the weird claw anyways. Still kind of a mystery.
